Ways to Get Involved
Host a Drive
We invite you to help by collecting personal hygiene items, school supplies, books, movies, board games, or items to celebrate birthdays and holidays. You can also help by giving gently used clothes, linens and luggage. For more information, email info@www.veralloyd.org.
Donate Quilts to Youth
You can give a child a gift that will be treasured for many years to come. Quilters around the state generously donate quilts to youth at Vera Lloyd. Each boy or girl selects a twin-size quilt to keep even after leaving our care.
Community Service
You, your church or community organization are invited to come to the Annie B. Wells campus for a service project. We need volunteers who are interested in simple construction projects, painting, landscaping, sharing hobbies and skills with youth, or just spending time with them. We also have opportunities to volunteer at various special events throughout the year. For more information, please email volunteer@www.veralloyd.org.
Adopt a Home
Churches or community organizations are encouraged to adopt a home on campus. Volunteers who adopt a home help gather school supplies, personal hygiene supplies, holiday celebration items and Christmas gifts for these homes. They may host youth on field trips to state parks, movies, church or other activities as well. They build valuable relationships with the youth on campus and help set them on the road to success.
Give a Gift
It costs $143 a day for our team to provide superior care for youth. Contracts with the State of Arkansas provide close to 50% of our annual budget. Your annual gifts and estate gifts make it possible for boys and girls in our care to eat nutritious meals, have clothes, shoes and school supplies, experience cultural events, and improve their physical fitness and academic outcomes.
